| Remote Support
Ever wondered what would happen if you had a serious technical problem
whilst mid-Atlantic, or cruising in a remote Chilean fjord? It's not
something most of us want to contemplate, but for just such an eventuality
we have developed a Remote Support service. We can connect to the yacht's
systems wherever the yacht is in the world (using an appropriate communications
connection - GSM, GPRS, 3G, Sat B, Fleet, VSAT or landline).
Via this connection we can:
- support and run diagnostics on the computer network onboard
- support, run diagnostics and make adjustments to other devices connected
to the network such as a Sea Tel TVRO system
- remotely troubleshoot mail, virus and general problems
- remotely push updates to the on board systems
- remotely create guest email accounts
The advantages are:
- the service is available anywhere in the world
- it takes away the worry from the crew of having to maintain technical
systems
- crew can be left to continue their normal functions without being
tied up on technical support calls
- there is no need to rely on local amateurs (if available) to troubleshoot
the systems - expert knowledge is available anytime
- the remote support software can be used by the crew to administer
their own PC's around the yacht from one central location
- video files compatible with the remote support software can be created
that can be used for training and support.
